Who I am: author, artist, graphics designer, and professional photographer. I was born in the late 1940s and painlessly assimilated into a typical military family. I decided to play hooky and go fishing while attending day-2 of kindergarten in Yokohama, Japan. Sixty-something years later, I am still looking for ways to go fishing.
After teaching all levels of photography at Tidewater Community College, Chesapeake campus, and later graduating from Old Dominion University as a studio arts major, I launched a career in television: news cameraman, editor, writer, PM Magazine story producer, creative services and research director, eventually running with the bigger dogs as senior product planner for Arbitron Television Ratings. I now live in North Carolina as a more or less retired senior citizen. I continue my love for painting, and land an assignment from time to time as a freelance graphics designer and writer-photographer.
Check out my children’s book, Comet & the Rainbow, a cautionary “eco-planetary tale” for human beings of all ages, available at the iTunes store. It can be read out loud to your children and grandchildren, or my goofy-voiced narration can be accessed from each page in case the child prefers to read alone. And — heaven forbid! — if you should happen to buy a copy for $1.99, please return to the iTunes Store and leave a review.b
