For someone like me who swears that McDonald’s Egg McMuffin is one of the finest fast food items offered on this planet or elsewhere, I applaud McDonald’s latest marketing announcement that breakfast will now be served all day long beginning October 6, 2015.
Although the thought of being able to order a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin any time I want makes my tastebuds blush and my feet tap lightly on the floor beneath my keyboard as I write this, I can’t help but wondering:
- Will breakfast items be prepared in bulk during regular breakfast hours and then nuked later in the day as they are needed?
- And if not—since McDonald’s fish sandwich is the second finest fast food item offered on this planet or elsewhere—will the McDonald’s afternoon menu eventually be offered during normal breakfast hours?
- Finally, by golly, is there any chance McDonald’s will offer to compensate me for “McBreakfast Yum your tummies all day long” marketing rights?
All I gotta do now is wait a bit before I drive into town and buy a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin for lunch.

WOW! I missed that one in all the ‘we are going to use butter’ announcements. This one was actually worthwhile. I also think their breakfast items are really good. I especially like the sausage and egg biscuit.
Thanks for the info.

I was watching TV 2 days ago and their ad popped up. I backed the DVR back up and re-read the message while it was still-framed just to make sure. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

I didn’t know anything about it… how could I have missed such a big news story??? But all facetiousness aside, yes, I would love to be able to enjoy an egg mcmuffin when I get up (my usual bedtime is around 3 to 4 am, so by the time I get up, breakfast at McD’s is done).
Glad to see a post from you, and thanks for passing along this news! Yay!

Now, if only they would stay open 24/7…

There are two in my area that are open 24/7. One is attached to a gas station, and the other one is a nice big and sleek standalone with free Wi-Fi! awesome! Can’t wait to have an egg mcmuffin and maybe a sausage burrito when I want it!

Yes. I can go into town in the afternoon now on chores instead of making a morning rush before 11AM.

Unfortunately, I have never had an egg McMuffin. Reason: Every time I eat McDonald’s food, I get sick. Doesn’t matter where in the country I eat at Mickey D’s, I get sick. So I can’t agree with you, even though I want to.

Sorry to hear that, Peg. I hope BK is kinder to you (can’t beat those Whopper Juniors [lettuce, tomato, extra onions])!
Back in the day (1970’s) the BK “Whaler” gastronomically incredible and absolute King of Fast Food. I had been a 3-year bona fide vegetarian back then, until the day I succumbed to the smells of a BK Whaler wafting out the door as I was passing by on a sidewalk. My body stopped and stuttered back and forth for several moments before I marched in and bought that sandwich on my way back to work. I was so embarassed at having given in to primal instincts and — not wanting any of my friends to see me eating meat — I recall eating the Whaler in a restroom at work.
